How do you use watercolour paint sets? A watercolour paint set will include paints, brushes and often watercolour paper pads You will also need a small pot of water so you can wet the dry colour pigment or thin out your liquid paints. To use dry pigment, just brush your moistened bristles against the paint in the pan. For thinning liquid paints, wet your brush by dipping it into the water, and dab the brush into the paint you want to liquefy. You can then paint directly onto your paper.

What is the best watercolour paint for beginners? Beginners can start with either dry watercolour paint or liquid watercolour paint. Dry paint is messier to work with and cross-contamination can occur if you’re not careful. While liquid paint is less messy, it can be a bit harder to control. We have kits that include either type, and they’ll have everything a beginner needs.

How do I use watercolour tubes? With watercolour tubes, you squeeze a little bit of paint into the wells on your palette. You can then mist the paint with water spray or thin it with a wet brush, according to your needs. An advantage to using tubes is that you’ll only dispense what you need, and a lot of artists love to customise their finishes, like creating a thinner wash by increasing the ratio of added water.

With rich colours and excellent transparency, our watercolour paints can be used in abstract work or for painting beautiful landscapes and seascapes. Some artists like to work with dry-pigment watercolour pans, while others prefer liquid watercolour tubes as their medium. We have a nice Watercolour Paint Kit to experiment with dry paint, with a collection of 25 colour pans. Our Watercolour Paint & Water Brush Kit is perfect for kids, and contains 36 colours, a brush pen and a #3 round brush. Both kits have everything a beginner needs.
