Arteza Real Brush Pens are the best way to paint on the move. You can use them like a marker pen by drawing without water, or as a watercolour paint by adding water to the fine nylon nib. The water reacts with the water-based ink, creating a beautiful watercolour effect that can be layered and blended. The fine nib gives you precise control over painting and colouring. Our open stock of Real Brush Pens will let you load up on your favourite colours without buying another large set. You can also grab a set of four pens in a single colour, so you won’t run out unexpectedly.
What are Real Brush Pens? Real Brush Pens are watercolour pens with a fine nylon nib. When used without water, the nib replicates a marker pen. When wet, it has similar qualities to a fine paintbrush. Real Brush Pens use a water-based ink. They are non-refillable, but they last a long time—up to a few months with moderate use.
How do you use a Real Brush Pen? To use your Real Brush Pen as a marker, hold it at an angle, like a regular pen. Draw onto your paper without wetting the nib. To use your Real Brush Pen as a paintbrush, you can wet the nib and paint right on your paper, or wet the paper first and then draw. Both techniques have their place!
How do you store a brush pen? You can store your Real Brush Pens flat or upright, so long as you securely attach the cap to prevent the ink from drying out. We recommend storing your brush pens in a drawer or another cool, dry place, just as you would marker pens. This will preserve the condition of your water brush pens, so they always works like new.
Arteza Real Brush Pens are watercolour pens you can use like a marker or paintbrush to create beautiful mixed media art. You can blend, shade and layer colours with ease and the ink offers the same performance as watercolour paint. If you are new to watercolour brush pens, you will be pleased with the vibrancy of the colours and the performance of the nib. The nib offers smooth colour transfer and works great on our watercolour paper. Browse our open stock to see Arteza’s range of brush pens. Then, top up your existing set!
