If you like to paint in watercolour, water brushes will make a perfect addition to your studio. These refillable water brush pens have interchangeable fine and broad brush tips connected to a water barrel. Just fill the barrel with water, dip your brush into a paint pan or onto your palette and you’re set. You can also add water-based ink to the barrel to free yourself from carrying paint while travelling. Perfect for artists of all ages, our water brushes are durable and designed to last. Give them a go for mess-free painting!
How do you use a water brush? To use a water brush pen, unscrew the top and fill the barrel with water. When you hold your brush pen down towards your paper, the water will flow through the chamber into the bristles. You can then dip your water brush pen into a paint pan and create your palette, just like a normal paintbrush.
Can you put ink in a water brush? There’s nothing stopping you from putting a water-based ink in your water brush, so you don’t have to carry paint. The ink will flow through the brush to the paper, creating a watercolour effect. However, the ink could clog your water brush’s bristles when it dries, so remember to clean your pen thoroughly after using it.
How do I refill a water brush? To refill your Arteza Water Brush Pen, unscrew the nib end from the barrel. This will give you access to the refillable reservoir. Run the cold tap on low and refill the water brush pen until you reach the top the fill line. Our water brush pens come with a selection of fine tips and broad tips, which you can also change when you refill.
You can use Arteza Water Brush Pens in place of a paintbrush and water for watercolours, calligraphy, hand-lettering and face painting. They are versatile and useful tools enjoyed by artists of all ages and skill levels, including children. Our water brush pens also have a rubber grip which you can squeeze to make a wash or to control the flow of water. With a little practice, you will be able to blend, layer and apply washes just as easily as with a paintbrush. Browse our water brush range today and enjoy non-stop, mess-free painting!
