Palette Pads

Simplify your creative life with Arteza’s disposable palette pads! Mix your palette the same as you would on a wooden palette, but instead of cleaning up afterwards, just tear the sheet off the pad and throw it away! It’s such a simple concept that you’ll kick yourself if you're not using a palette pad already. You can mix acrylic, oil, gouache and fabric paint onto a paper palette and use a brush or palette knife. Each sheet is durable enough to support your needs, so collect a palette today.

Why should I choose a palette paper pad? Palette paper is bleed-proof, disposable paper that you use for mixing your paint. The major benefit of using a palette paper pad is that you can tear off the used page from your pad and throw it away, leaving you with a new sheet of paper for a fresh palette. This makes life easier by saving you precious time when cleaning up.

What type of palette pad is used in oil painting? Oil paint is thick and heavy, so it needs a sturdy bleed-proof paper to hold it. If you’re also using a palette knife, it needs to be pretty strong. We recommend a minimum paper weight of 80 gsm for oil paint, and we have several pads of palette paper that meet this specification. The paper you use should be white and smooth.

What's the best paper palette for acrylic paints? Our advice for oil paint applies to acrylic paint, as well. An 80 gsm palette paper will hold your acrylics, but remember that not all paper is suitable for use as a palette—it needs to be bleed-proof and smooth. Smooth paper is best because you want the paint to pick up readily on your brush.

We recommend a palette paper pad to all artists who like to paint. Cleaning up is much easier, because all you have to do is throw away a sheet of paper. If you are prone to keeping a messy palette, palette paper will also help you structure your paint colours and avoid accidentally mixing them. Whether you use paint brushes, palette knives or both, a disposable palette pad will serve you well. All our palette pads are made from 80 gsm paper with bleed-proof pages perfect for mixing colour, so come on over to Arteza—we sell plenty of palette pads, making for an easy choice!
