Self-adhesive vinyl is one of the most flexible and versatile mediums around. You can wrap any sound surface with self-adhesive vinyl, forming shapes to cover walls, windows, crafts and toys. Children love using self-adhesive vinyl to make personalised stickers and it can also be used outdoors. It’s best practice to apply heat to the vinyl, ideally with a hairdryer, so it can easily form into shape. We have lots of self-adhesive vinyl for sale at Arteza, including assortment packs, single colour sheets and tiles. Grab what you need to enjoy using vinyl on glass, ceramic, metal, and plastic!
What is self-adhesive vinyl used for? Self-adhesive vinyl is most commonly used as a surface coating to wrap cars. It can wrap almost any smooth surface including glass, ceramic, metal and plastic. It can also be cut out to create arts and crafts items, including logos, signs, fun stickers, decals, decorations, mug art, name holders, and home decor. You can cut the vinyl with a knife, scissors or cutting machine.
Is self-adhesive vinyl permanent? Self-adhesive vinyl is strong and durable, but it is only temporary. It can be removed easily by heating with a hairdryer and peeling it off. When used outdoors, it should last a few years so long as it’s been applied to a clean surface.
How do you apply self-adhesive vinyl? Peel off the sticker back and line up the vinyl with whatever you’re wrapping. Gently apply it to your surface and rub it down with a squeegee or plastic card. You can improve adhesion and make the vinyl easier to work by using a hairdryer. Gently heat the vinyl and form it around the object. If you have air bubbles, they will disappear on their own, but you can also manipulate and smooth them out with heat and a squeegee.
Adhesive vinyl is an easy material to use, provided you take your time—practice makes perfect! We recommend starting out with self-adhesive vinyl tiles or self-adhesive vinyl sheets. These are pre-cut to size and easier to handle than rolls. They’re a bit cheaper and also reduce wasted material. We sell self-adhesive vinyl multipacks in both assorted colours and single colour varieties, some even available in both matte and glossy finishes. Or perhaps you’re looking for holographic vinyl? Whatever you need, we have it. Browse our range and get wrapping!
